Pakistan and India are set to clash today at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium for the T20 World Cup 2024.

The high-voltage game has brought cricket fans on edge including former Indian all-rounder and World Cup winner, Yuvraj Singh, who talked to the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the clash in the USA.

Talking to the ICC, Yuvraj revealed two match-ups between the arch-rivals he is looking forward to in the match and they are Shaheen Shah Afridi vs Virat Kohli and Mohammad Amir vs Rohit Sharma.

“I’m definitely looking forward to Mohammad Amir vs Rohit Sharma because he likes to get the ball full and Shaheen Shah Afridi against Virat kohli. I think these are going to be some big match-ups.”

Amir and Shaheen have dominated the Indian batters with Amir dismissing Rohit in the two matches the players have faced each other. Rohit has only scored one run against Amir from seven balls.

As for Shaheen, he has faced Virat two times in T20I cricket and dismissed the batter once in the 2021 T20 World Cup clash. Virat has an average of 34 against the seamer.

He further added that fans and everyone else are on their toes for this match because the two countries have a lot of history together, “I think we all get moved by the emotion of the India-Pakistan game because we have a lot of history.”

Yuvraj also stated the factors which will give the two teams an upper hand on each other, “Pakistan has got some really fiery bowlers and I think we have got a stronger batting side.”

The former Indian cricketer also revealed which team will have the higher chance of winning, “But at the end of the day, you have to use your mind. You have to play according to the situation and I feel the team which plays according to the situation and keeps the emotion back, will definitely win this game.”

The last time the two countries met in a T20I match was back in the T20 World Cup 2022 where India outclassed Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
